Lost Paradise 1.0.4

Hello everyone,

Another update for Lost Paradise, with a comparatively smaller changelist this time around:

  • I addressed a level-design issue that was nagging me even before release. Despite having a suggested path to follow, Lost Paradise is meant to be a very open game with no wrong path. It was totally intended that you could enter the city before visiting the factory. But while there was a way to exit the city afterward, it was pretty hard to find. Long story short, you needed to find a secret route to the factory from the city to get an ability that would let you go back to the starting area. In other words, it was way easier to enter the city than it was to leave it, and it ought to be the opposite. So I added a way to use one of the exit routes even without this ability. I will sleep better at night now!
  • I added objective markers to the map. Right off the bat you get one pointing toward your initial objective (the radio tower), but after finding the first upgrade you will get additional markers for the three keys you have to uncover to progress. Vague directions, similar to the way Hollow Knight points you toward the Dreamers and the Black Egg Temple. But it does have an advantage in that it lets you know how close or how far you are to the objective. It's particularly important toward the end of the game, so you know when it is a good time to backtrack for a victory lap.
  • I also added button prompts in the inventory menu. It may have been obvious that you could equip suits and talismans by pressing the confirm button on this menu, but what about the Music Headphones? It's the only item you can use listed among otherwise passive abilities... Thankfully now you get an explicit prompt. Yay for UX!

And that's it.

Enjoy! ;)

Great updates! The one thing I think you need is some indicator on the map for where the determinator robot is. I collected all of the drone chips and it told me to go back to him, but I can't remember where he is and have been warping all over to try to find him.

Ok, I found him. I should have put a marker on where he was earlier. I already got all of the lead drones, so now I just need to find one last note.
