Hi everyone!

I joined the Metroidvania Month game jam again, this time with a very clear objective: make a game playable directly in your web browser. Distant Paradise is that game.

It's is a short sci-fi metroidvania where you're tasked with exploring a mysterious temple and its surroundings, to find new movement abilities that will allow you to reach more places. But be careful, many deadly monsters roam these halls... Can you find your way out?  And can you uncover the secret purpose of this place?

To get the game playable in your browser, I had to create a brand new engine for the occasion. Coming up with both new tech and a new game in just a month was definitely a challenge. This is why I call this game a "microvania": it's a short, fun adventure that can be completed in an hour. It's not as feature-rich as my other games, but it does run in your web browser!

The story also acts as a coda for my previous games, Silent Paradise and Lost Paradise, though you don't need to have played them before, they're all standalone stories.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy it! It was fun to come up with a game with such constraints, and this time you don't even have to download anything to experience the harsh environment of planet Soror!
