Dear Clockmaker

Dear Clockmaker is a free 3D action-adventure game.

Where are you?

Your husband, the best clockmaker in the world, is missing.

He went to his workshop one day but never came out. His clocktower is built in a pocket dimension, a place of magical wonders... but also countless dangers. You have every reason to fear the worst.

Armed only with your courage and a crude iron pipe, you set out on an adventure to find and rescue him. But while the clocktower has never been a normal place, things are not exactly how you remember them: weird automatons are trying to kill you as you explore the ancient ruins surrounding the tower, looking for new abilities that will help you navigate the place.

What really happened to your husband? A terrible truth lies atop the clocktower...

Dear players,

This is a game I've made in a decade and a month.

As my entry to the Metroidvania Month Jam #29, this game was made under a tight deadline, which leads to this relatively small-scale adventure. Expect one to two hours of gameplay to reach the ending.

But as a 3D action-adventure game, Dear Clockmaker is also a breakthrough for me. My love for exploring 3D worlds is what led me to game development in the first place, but alas, making one is no small feat for a solo programmer working with his own tech! This is a game I could only make now, after years of research and development, experiments and prototypes.

I'm super proud of it and excited for what could come next!

How to play

The game can be played both with keyboard & mouse or a gamepad.

With K&M: use the mouse to orient the camera, WASD or the arrow keys to move,  left click to attack or interact, middle click to jump and right click to dash and ESC to access the menu.

With a gamepad (Xbox or equivalent): use the right stick to orient the camera, left stick to move, X to attack, A to jump, B to dash and Y to interact and Start to access the menu.

You can change the controls at will in the game's settings.

The game has been tested on SteamDeck with compatibility set to "Proton Experimental".
